Each session begins with a specialized pre-treatment using anaphoresis to emulsify sebum, remove debris and soften the tissue, preparing the skin for optimal results. Each session ends with a post-treatment using cataphoresis to restore the skin’s natural pH, reduce redness, and calm the nerve endings, assisting in the healing process.
Electrolysis works by inserting a very fine, sterile probe into the natural opening of the hair follicle and delivering a controlled dose of electrical current directly to the root. This current destroys the growth cells, permanently preventing the hair from regrowing.
Because each hair must be treated individually, and hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are necessary to target all hairs effectively.
Pre-treatment
For the best results, please:
- Arrive with clean, product-free skin
- Avoid shaving, waxing, or tweezing for at least 3–5 days (we need visible hair) (you will need to stop all forms of hair removal besides shaving once treatments begin)
- Stay hydrated and moisturized in the days leading up to your appointment
- Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and heavy exercise before your session (they can increase sensitivity)
- Inform us of any medications or medical conditions that have changed since your original consultation.
Appointments vary in length depending on the area and modality used. You may notice redness, swelling, or pinpoint scabbing—this is normal and temporary.
Post-treatment
Immediately After Treatment (First 24–48 Hours):
- Redness, pinpoint scabbing, or mild swelling is normal—especially on the face or sensitive areas.
- Do not touch, scratch, or pick the skin.
- Apply a cool compress or witch hazel to calm inflammation.
- Avoid makeup, deodorant, or heavy skincare products for 24 hours.
- Skip hot tubs, gyms, saunas, or excessive sweating.
Ongoing Care (First 3–5 Days):
- Cleanse with a gentle, non-foaming cleanser (avoid harsh exfoliants or scrubs).
- Apply soothing post-care products recommended by your electrologist.
- NO tweezing, waxing, or epilating—only shave between appointments if needed.
- Let any scabs heal naturally—do not pick them.
